Jeff Gold, Lead Investigator:
I am a licensed private investigator in the state of Florida and also have several other related licenses. I have extensive experience with undercover operations as an undercover drug agent and street crimes investigator. I have developed and taught several undercover operations courses that have been taught to investigators and officers. I have a medical background as a paramedic and an associate’s degree in Emergency Medical Services. I have been qualified as an expert witness in the medical area during testimony and have also instructed in the field.
I have a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and have taught undergraduate classes in the same field, both online and face-to-face. I have worked in the public safety field for over twenty-eight years and have a broad knowledge of several services and fields. Among my current duties, I instruct other law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical professionals in various issues related to public safety and instruct for the military.
I have attended several specialty schools to enhance my work knowledge including the St. Leo College Command and Management School, the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration’s course in Clandestine Drug Laboratories and Site Safety at Quantico, Virginia, the National Center for Forensic Science’s course in Post Bomb Blast Investigation at the University of Central Florida, US Army/Federal Bureau of Investigation Hazardous Devices School at Redstone Arsenal, ATF Advanced Explosives Disposal Techniques School, Florida State Hazardous Materials Technician, SWAT Medic, Florida Law Enforcement Instructor Techniques Course, Florida Fire Service Instructor’s Course and multiple other courses related to narcotics identification, advanced law enforcement techniques, and fire service specialty training.
Additionally, I have attended multiple specialty courses in terrorism including specific groups and organizations and the various means of implementing terrorist acts. I currently teach courses in this subject and continue my education with the most current updates.
1990-2014 Sergeant, Marion County Sheriff’s Office
In 2014, I retired as a Sergeant with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. During the past twenty-four years I had been a Drug Unit Supervisor, Uniformed Patrol Officer, a Field Training Officer, and a Street Crimes Investigator. As a Uniformed Patrol Officer and Field Training Officer, I was responsible for training new employees and evaluating their release to full duty. As a Street Crimes Investigator my duties included undercover work in all fields, narcotics and vice related crimes investigation, investigations of crimes against persons, property, and computer related crimes, including child sex exploitation crimes involving computers and the Internet. My last position, a Patrol Sergeant, involved the supervision of approximately a dozen employees on a full time basis. In addition to my supervisory duties, I have developed and instructed several training programs for a variety of pubic service agencies and civilians. In addition to these duties, I am a Defensive Tactics Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Driving Instructor, First Aid/CPR Instructor, and Taser Instructor for the Sheriff’s Office, former Bomb Squad Commander for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and I was on the department’s SWAT Team. I also have the appropriate security clearance for a Bomb Squad Commander/Technician and was responsible for managing budgets and personnel issues within my span of control. I continue to volunteer with the agency in training and as an advisor.
2006-2014 Adjunct Instructor and Fire Science Advisor, College of Central Florida
Upon my retirement from the Florida Retirement System, I was required to resign from other occupations that participate in the FRS, the College of Central Florida was one of those entities. Prior to retiring, I have developed several classes and successfully administered them to approximately one hundred students each semester. In addition to teaching undergraduate classes, I am also the Fire Science Advisor for CF and guided and recruit students wishing to obtain a degree in Fire Science. I have successfully transferred all of the college’s face-to-face classes to the online format and helped recruit other instructors and assist them in the development of courses.
2005-2014 Instructor, Florida State Fire College
Upon my retirement from the Florida Retirement System, I was required to resign from other occupations that participate in the FRS, the Fire College was one of those entities. Prior to retiring, I was an adjunct instructor at the Florida State Fire College and hold a current Fire Instructor III certificate. I have been the lead instructor for several classes including Course Delivery, Course Design, Hazardous Materials Technician (160 hour), Chlorine Emergencies, Clandestine Drug Labs, and other specialty courses. I have developed and taught several courses online and developed several online courses.
2001-2006 Adjunct Instructor, University of Central Florida
Immediately after receiving my Master’s Degree from the University of Central Florida, I began teaching undergraduate classes as an adjunct instructor. I have instructed multiple courses for the University of Central Florida including; Drugs and Society, Corrections and Penology, Victims in the Criminal Justice System, Sex Crimes, Crime in America, and Conflict and Terror. In addition to instructing, I have
also assisted in recruiting new students and instructors to the University of Central Florida and assisted the new instructors in developing and implementing their classes.
1984-1990 Lieutenant, Marion County Fire Service
During my employment with the Marion County Fire Service I worked as an EMT/Firefighter and was promoted to District Lieutenant responsible for the supervision of approximately six fire stations. My duties included scheduling, day to day operations, employee screening and background checks, supervision of Emergency Medical Services, grant writing, arson investigation, fire and rescue scene command, and any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the smooth operation of fire and rescue services. I was on the original Hazardous Materials Team of Marion County and continue to volunteer my services with them. I continue to maintain my firefighting and paramedic certificates/licenses and volunteer my time with the local fire department as a Firefighter/Paramedic/Hazardous Materials Technician.

I have recently completed training to instruct and create on-line courses and have taken course in all aspects of Microsoft Applications.
